Bill Williams

Areas of Expertise

 Bill Williams is a subject matter expert in all facets of Strategic Planning and Communication, M&S Training solutions, Proposal Development, and Knowledge Management. He has extensive US Army Europe Army Service Component Command (ASCC) experience, serving over 15 years in various positions in the headquarters. He also has extensive experience working with NATO Allies and other European partners. As a former FA57 Colonel, Bill is a training and simulations expert. 

Bill Williams has years of experience working on the Army’s new Synthetic Training Environment. He is adept at providing software developers with sound Military advice for product improvement. 

Bill was a gaming pioneer, adapting the tank game, Steel Beasts, for educational purposes at the US Military Academy 2001. It was one the first uses of gaming in education at West Point’s Department of Military Instruction. He was also a major factor in the extensive use of Steel Beast by NATO armies for training and exercises. 

Following his combat tour in Iraq in 2005, Bill developed a unique training capability serving as a Joint Multinational Readiness Center Observer 

 Controller and JMRC Operations Officer. He served as USAREUR Chief of Exercises. He designed and built the USAREUR G3 Multinational Training Division. Bill has designed live, virtual, constructive, and gaming training events from the battalion to the four-star headquarters level. He extends this perspective, providing optimal TMST client capabilities, and solutions in winning proposals. 

Selected to assist an Allied General Officer to become USAREUR Chief of Staff, In this role, Bill worked closely with four German Brigadier Generals, helping them lead the USAREUR Staff during the Invasion of Crimea and through the European Deterrence Initiatives over the last seven years. After leaving active duty, Bill served as the Deputy Chief of Staff (Civilian) focused on transforming the USAREUR headquarters. He is an expert in staff process and information management.
