Mark Hehmeyer is a Senior Consultant and leads the Operations Board of TMST.  Experienced in all facets of military training he most often consults for live training, particularly at the Combat Training Centers, and campaign planning.

Former positions include Director of the Department of Future Simulations, Director of Live Training Systems, Programs Manager, Senior Program Manager for Battle Command M&S, program manager, and software development manager for major defense contractors. His groups included the development of live training system components and systems and simulations.  Key aspects included the reuse and pre-use of tactical systems, emerging technical and commercial standards, information assurance, architectural development, tactical/system interfaces, and integration of both constructive and virtual systems for training realism. A partial list of his programs includes JSIMS/WARSIM Common Component Work Station program; Warfighter 2000 C4I team; OneSAF C4I; an Army subject matter expert on the Common Training Instrumentation Architecture (CTIA); CTC-IS; CTC-OIS; CTC-IS RCS; and other programs.

Mark’s operational credentials are based on over 40 years of experience in the Army and Department of Defense both on active duty and as a contractor.  His final Army assignment was within the Office of The Inspector General, where he served in a variety of positions, including as Director of Information Resources and PM of the IGNET Standard Army Management Information System operating in 32 countries at over 200 locations.  Other positions included a variety of Armor command and staff assignments, Observer Controller, OPFOR Operations Officer and Deputy Commander, and operations Group G3 at the National Training Center, and Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the United States Military Academy.

Academic Credentials & Skill Set

Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York

Master of Science degree in civil engineering with additional studies in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2003 and is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and PMI.
